A special collaboration bag by author Tetsuro Tomonari and BRIGITTE TANAKA has arrived. Tomonari continues to create works centered on humor and comfort that gently resonate with the human mind and body. The foundation of this design comes from his sculpture series, KUTSUYU (literally "Shoe Bath"). By reflecting on the traces of time and memory etched into shoes—the very objects that support people through their life journeys—and transforming them into bathtubs, his work offers viewers a scene of quiet repose.
Tomonari’s sneaker sculptures symbolize the vibrant energy of contemporary urban culture. Capturing these forms on organza through BRIGITTE TANAKA’s delicate embroidery, which evokes antique designs, serves as a conceptual translation—elevating the lighthearted energy of street culture into classical elegance. Located on Rue Saint-Honoré in Paris’s 1st arrondissement—a street lined with high-end boutiques—BRIGITTE TANAKA is a duo brand created by a French and Japanese female designer with backgrounds in the arts. By combining the classic forms of everyday bags with the luxurious, elegant “organza fabric” typically used in dresses and beautiful, delicate “embroidery,” the brand offers a fresh perspective on the contemporary handbag scene. Its designs, characterized by humor and wit, are loved worldwide, and in recent years, the brand has garnered attention through collaborations with numerous renowned fashion brands.
友成 哲郎 / 1986 神奈川県横浜市出身、 2009 東京造形大学美術学科彫刻専攻卒業、 2011 東京造形大学大学院造形研究科美術研究領域修了 。ユーモラスさや癒しを軸に、人の心と身体に静かに作用する作品を制作している。過去に自身が心身の不調を経験したことをきっかけに、制作を通じて自分自身を回復させる行為として創作活動を開始。人の緊張をほどき、ふと心が緩む“瞬間の力”に着目し、鑑賞者を楽しませ、和ませる表現を探求している。近年は彫刻や香りなど感覚に訴える表現を通じて、 「体験するアート」へと表現を広げている。
Tetsuro Tomonari / Born in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture in 1986, he graduated from the Department of Fine Arts, Sculpture, Tokyo Zokei University in 2009, and completed the Graduate School of Fine Arts, Department of Art and Design, Tokyo Zokei University in 2011. Centered on humor and healing, he creates artworks that quietly affect people's minds and bodies. After experiencing physical and mental illness in the past, he began creating art as an act of self-healing through his work. He focuses on the "power of a moment" that releases tension and suddenly relaxes the mind, and explores expressions that entertain and soothe the viewer. In recent years, he has expanded his expression to "experiential art" through expressions that appeal to the senses, such as sculpture and fragrance.
